Be good, do good, and be a power for good
Fr. Thomas Augustine Judge, C.M

Our Purpose

In the Missionary Cenacle Apostolate, our primary goal is to live in a way that honors God and makes a positive difference in the lives of others. We strive to be good friends and neighbors, and to help those in need. We believe that loving God and loving others is the key to a happy and meaningful life.

We want to be a community where everyone feels welcome and loved, regardless of who they are or where they come from. We care about helping those in need and sharing the hope and joy we find in our faith. Together, we work to be a light in our world, spreading love, compassion, and kindness all around us.

OUR HISTORY

Thomas Augustine Judge C.M.

The Missionary Cenacle Apostolate finds its roots in the missionary zeal and compassion of the young priest Thomas Augustine Judge, CM. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1868, Father Judge was ordained into the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians) in 1899. After deep prayer and seeking of the Holy Spirit on how to respond to the needs of the Church, he founded the Missionary Cenacle Apostolate in 1909 as a lay movement of committed Catholics.

Young Pioneers

Margaret Louise Keasey and Dr. Margaret Healy

Father Judge’s vision was expanded through the involvement of pioneers such as Margaret Louise Keasey and Dr. Margaret Healy. Keasey, a schoolteacher in Pennsylvania, and Healy, a high school teacher in Queens, New York, were foundational pillars in the expansion and consolidation of the apostolate. Their devotion, leadership and dedication led them to become integral members of the community, being recognized as co-founders alongside Father Judge.

ST

Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity

Simultaneously, the Cenacle Missionary Apostolate also gave rise to the Missionary Servants of the Holy Trinity (ST), a community of priests and brothers committed to preaching the Gospel and providing pastoral service. Guided by the vision and example of Father Judge, the Missionary Servants dedicated themselves to bringing the message of hope and salvation to those who needed it most.

MSBT

Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity

As a result of Father Judge's work, the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity (MSBT) emerged. These sisters committed themselves to serving the Church and its people, responding to the call to bring God's love and mercy to the most in need. Under Father Judge's guidance, the Missionary Servants became a complete religious community, dedicated to apostolic service and personal sanctification.

FOUNDATIONAL VISION:
A Transformative Call

Father Thomas Augustine Judge had a bold vision of involving devoted Catholic laity in the mission of the Church. Recognizing their crucial role in the evangelizing work, Father Judge gathered a small group of six women in 1909 in Brooklyn, New York, to start a lay movement committed to service and evangelization. This initiative marked the beginning of the Apostolate of the Missionary Cenacle as an inclusive and collaborative community.

Today, Father Thomas Augustine Judge’s legacy lives on through the Missionary Cenacle Apostolate, a community that continues his mission of service and love. If you are looking for a meaningful way to live your faith and contribute to the well-being of others, we invite you to join us!
